Web 1.0 = content management
Web 2.0 = Web 1.0 + user management + infinite extensibility
Web 3.0 = Web 2.0 + infinite interoperability == Web 2.0 + data portability + web service APIs
Which I myself tried to express with
Use of open standards is a must to permit seamless technology across communities
which was inspired by what I call my Star Trek paradigm:
Try imagining a tech future with all the cool stuff they have in Star Trek, without open standards, without portable data, without interoperability across all boundaries.
Stupid jokes aside, does anybody really think it would be possible to seamlessly connect your vessel’s systems to $alien_system_of_your_choice if one of them is running on proprietary, closed systems?
